About Me

Quenta
I grew up in Hartford, Kentucky, a town in the western part of the state that boasts 2,000 people. In 1979 after graduating with English and journalism degrees from Western Kentucky University, I made the drive south to Florida where I met and married Larry, the love of my life. Together we raised two terrific daughters and built wonderful careers. In 2015, we followed our dream and moved to New York City, specifically the Upper West Side. In 2023, we moved further north to Portsmouth, NH. This is the story of our life and particularly my transition from Kentucky to Florida to New England. I also love to cook (and Larry loves to eat) so look for favorite recipes to appear from time to time. But the bulk of this blog will be about how a small-town girl from a dry county in Kentucky and her Bronx-born Irish Catholic husband adapt to the Northeast lifestyle.
